Karl Jaross

Karl-JarosLOCAL BOY Karl is back from sunny Queensland recently relinquishing his popular yoga classes. Eager to get back home, and reconnect with friends and family he is nonetheless on a mission. Earlier this year he, by chance met Michael, who is already a familiar face on the local yoga scene. The two decided to join forces to create the kind of yoga studio that they themselves would like to attend. World-class transformational yoga right here in Newy! Thus Newcastle Hot Power Yoga was born.

Karl has a friendly demeanour and welcoming presence, though he freely admits there was a time in his life when he felt caught in a downward spiral, out of control and powerless to create the change he so badly needed. Then he made a life-changing discovery that opened up a whole new world of possibility.

“I believe that stillness and observation is the way to gain a deeper insight into ourselves and is also the means to uncover the latent potential and power within us all. We are taught to focus on alleviating the symptoms that trouble us, but we really need to look deeper, to discover the root cause. Then the solution becomes simple and clear. We must work our lives from the inside out!”

Karl is passionate about facilitating your positive change. “We owe it to ourselves, we owe it to our families and we owe it to our community to uncover our real and natural selves and to live in the peace and happiness that is our real nature”.

After suffering severe injury whilst working as a heavy machinery operator, Karl was desperate for a solution to his daily pain. He discovered that yoga was the most powerful tool for restoring emotional balance, regaining movement, health, and postural realignment. Yoga was such a positive influence that he resolved to explore, study and understand its principles in order to share what he’d learnt with others.

In a collaborative effort with his teacher, Joanna Moore, together they designed her hugely successful Yoga Rhythms Teacher Training Program.

Karl’s inspiration sky-rocketed when he discovered Baron Baptiste’s “Journey into Power”. Baron’s masterful combination of all the major styles of yoga caught Karl’s imagination and his simple, yet powerful message that “In order to heal we need to really feel” resonated deeply with his own experience.

“If we become too serious, our practice becomes dull and boring. Remember to have fun! That way we can bring out the best we have to offer, both on and off our yoga mat”.
